Classwork

A collection of work produced throughout my Public Relations education at the University of Georgia. These courses include "Website Development," "Crisis Communication," "Foundations of Graphic Communication," "Public Relations Communication," and "Advertising, Public Relations, and Health."

Writing samples from my "Crisis Communication," "Reporting and Writing Across Platforms" and "Public Relations Communication" courses can be found on their respective pages.

I began my Public Relations studies in the Fall 2021 semester as a second-year student in Introduction to Public Relations. I was admitted to the major upon completion of a Statement of Interest as well as five areas of foundational courses during my first year as a student.

Web Development

I am currently a student at Grady College's New Media Institute where I am learning new skills in technology. My current web development course teaches coding skills. My projects consist of building web pages using Bootstrap and CSS. My lessons are provided by Free Code Camp.

Here are links to my projects that I have written code for and designed with CSS:

Public Relations Communication

This course, taught by Professor Tom Cullen, challenged me to learn all of the foundational components of Public Relations. I created deliverables: Press Releases, Media Lists, and Pitches, both digital and traditional, as well as digital content: social media plans for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, along with blog posts.

For my final project, I revised my work throughout the semester and compiled it with new additions to create a 50-page portfolio of my plan as the hypothetical Public Relations Practitioner for Cine Athens, an independent art house cinema located in downtown Athens, Georgia.

Advertising, Public Relations, and Health

This course challenged me to create a Strategic Campaign Plan for a specific and prominent health crisis in my community. My group and I focused on Men's Mental Health, creating a hypothetical campaign to implement across our campus with measurable goals and objectives, physical resources to share with relevant campus organizations, and real-world examples all backed up by scholarly research.

Advertisement Redesign (Adobe InDesign)

For this project, I was asked to redesign an advertisement for print using Adobe InDesign. The original advertisement is featured below, labeled "Before", and my design is labeled "After". My design features all of the same text information in a more visually pleasing manner. My design was critiqued twice in front of my whole class, teaching me to receive constructive criticism publicly and to implement it afterward.
