Hi! I'm Sophie Difusco
I am a public relations major and third-year student at The University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications.
Writing has always been a skill that comes naturally to me. My kindergarten teacher called me a writing machine because my assignments contained pages of ever-flowing ideas at the ripe age of five.
My love for writing strengthened in high school, where I first enrolled in journalism courses. The first article I ever wrote during my freshman year was published on the first page as the highlighted piece in the school newspaper. I can pinpoint that moment as the one that inspired me to pursue my education and eventually a career in writing.
I have continued my studies through Introduction to Public Relations, Public Relations Communications, Health PR Campaigns, Reporting and Writing Across Platforms, Foundations of Graphic Communications, and Introduction to Marketing courses.
I currently serve as Director of Finance for the Public Relations Student Society of America. I held a previous role on the society's Social Media Committee. I was also elected to serve as Social Media Coordinator for Rescue Paws UGA, for which I create graphics and posts to run the Instagram account and maintain the website. I also create graphics for the Rouge Magazine blog as a Digital Content Creator, and for UGA Miracle as an Assistant Chair on the Marketing Leadership Team. As my sorority's Historian, I create a physical scrapbook to showcase the highlights of each calendar year.
